Hmmm... Researching LandMark Education Forums
I got introduced to this thing called Landmark education, and it looks like a very interesting program. Now, I have done research on it, while attending, the enthusiasm to which that was presented was almost... 'cult-like', BUT, what they said did make a lot of sense. Self-awareness is one thing, but where your focus on your self-awareness is another issue. My thing I need to work on, is being aware of my surroundings, being aware of those around me and how my actions affect others. The more I reflect back, the more I notice that being a BIG problem.

I'm taking a look at the courses, and the layout of the day, and basically it's 3 days, and 1/2 day for wrap-up. The days are 12-16 hr days, and... so I am a bit skeptical about it. Also, Werner Erhard is a name that also makes me exceedingly cautious, since he sold "the technology" from his now defunct "est", and his brother now runs LandMark Education Corporation.

Here's the site for Landmark....

Here's the Wikipedia entry on it

Further resources on it...

Hmmm... I've both really good and really bad things about Landmark, what are your thoughts on it?

I'm skeptical. I've had former roomies love Landmark, but it felt very cultish to me. Fortunately it's only classes, and they won't force you to stick around.

Call this an opinion that really doesn't help, I suppose.

I have done quite a bit of research on Landmark Education. The vast majority of the negative information I found was from people who haven't participated in The Landmark Forum, all second hand or later information.

My wife, daughter, several of my family and friends and I have participated in The Landmark Forum. The results have been positively life altering.

The Landmark Forum is an inquiry into what’s possible for human beings. In the Landmark Forum they distinguish blind spots that once distinguished gives you the access to whole new realms of possibility that were not available before. The Landmark Forum is for healthy and successful people whose lives are working well and who are committed to excelling at what is next in their lives. The promise of the Landmark Forum is anything you want for yourself or your life is available out of your participation.

The following is a link to a Harris Interactive independent survey of health professionals and educators who had participated in programs offered by Landmark Education. http://tinyurl.com/5hg4fl

Harris Interactive found that survey results showed that the vast majority of respondents held very positive views regarding Landmark Education programs as more than nine of ten agreed that Landmark’s programs were responsibly and professionally conducted, produced practical and powerful results, and made a profound difference in their lives. Moreover, nearly all respondents (96%) agreed that Landmark Education Programs provided great value.

Dr. Raymond D. Fowler, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer American Psychological Association, who participated in The Landmark Forum with his wife, who is also a psychologist, published the following. http://tinyurl.com/5z36ew
